Mllikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha raised the issue in Rajya Sabha and demanded the suspension order be revoked. But Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu has said that the suspension would not be reconsidered given their conduct.
The Opposition is now likely boycott the Upper House.
Yesterday, 12 opposition MPs were suspended for the whole of Parliament's Winter Session for violent behaviour during the Monsoon session. The list includes Shiv Sena's Priyanka Chaturvedi and Anil Desai, Trinamool Congress's Dola Sen and Shanta Chhetri CPM's Elamaram Kareem and six Congress leaders.
On August 11, Opposition MPs climbed on the officials' table, waved black cloth and threw files when the House began a discussion on farmers' protest against new reform laws. Many stood on the table where the parliamentary staff sits right below the chair, while others crowded around it shouting anti-government slogans.
