June 3, 2023: More than 280 people were killed and around 900 were injured in a three-train collision in Balasore, Odisha that occurred on Friday.



Reportedly, around ten to twelve coaches of the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express fall onto the opposite track.



The trains which were involved in the crash are:  Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a goods train.

According to some report, three NDRF units, 4 Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force units, over 15 fire rescue teams, 30 doctors, 200 police personnel and 60 ambulances have been deployed in the accident site.



Police officials informed that all the injured passengers have been shifted to various hospital of Odisha for their treatment.



Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday announced that a high-level committee will be set up to investigate the train crash.
