Aditya L1 is carrying seven different payloads to have a detailed study of the Sun

September 2, 2023: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Saturday successfully launched India’s first solar mission Aditya-L1 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.





Aditya-L1 is a planned coronagraphy spacecraft. It will be inserted at about 1.5 million km from Earth in a halo orbit around the L1 Lagrange point between the Earth and the Sun. Aditya-L1 will study the solar atmosphere, solar magnetic storms, and their impact on the environment around Earth.



Aditya L1 is carrying seven different payloads to have a detailed study of the Sun.



The mission has an allocated cost of Rs.78.53 crore excluding the costs of launch.



Hundreds of people gathered together at Satish Dhawan Space Centre to witness the launch of the Aditya-L1 Mission.
