June 8, 2022: Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, has announced that India has entered the Guinness World Records for constructing the longest piece of bituminous concrete laid continuously.



He congratulated the entire team of NHAI for achieving the feat.



The National Highways Authority of India's (NHAI) consultants and concessionaire, Rajpath Infracon Pvt Ltd and Jagdish Kadam, have achieved this record for constructing a 75 km of continuous bituminous concrete in a single lane on National Highway 53.The road was laid on a section of NH-53 between the Amravati and Akola districts of Maharashtra.
