September 2, 2023: Fresh violence took place during a protest in the Jalna district of Maharashtra. The protest was staged demanding the Maratha Reservation in Jalna on Friday.

Reportedly, Stones were pelted and vehicles were torched during the protest. Some police personnel and protesters were injured in the violence. Police dispersed the protesters using force.

According to sources, a case has been registered against over 360 people for their involvement in violence. Out of 360, sixteen persons have been identified.

The protesters which was led by Manoj Jarange, had been staging a hunger strike demanding reservation for the Maratha community at the village since Tuesday.
