Several ministers resigned amid speculation that many of them would be asked to go due to ‘poor performance’

July 7, 2021: Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar were the first to quit the Union Cabinet ahead of the rejig of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Cabinet which is expected to take place at 5.30 PM on Wednesday. The new Cabinet members will be sworn in by 6 PM at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.



Union Minister Babul Supriyo, Sadananda Gowda, Debashree Chaudhuri, Sanjay Dhotre and Ratan Lal Kataria have also resigned.



Just few hours left for the mega rejig and swearing of Prime Minister Naremdra Modi’s Cabinet 2.0. As many as 20-25 new faces are likely to be added to the Union Cabinet with an eye on the assembly election in 6 states next year and 2024 General Elections.
