November 24, 2021: It is once again that time of the year when your skin goes dry, tends to look dull and pale. Because of the chill you do not feel like touching water and it is very tempting to give your skincare routine a miss. But be it summer or winter you have to look good and confident. Here are a few very easy and simple tips to keep your skin soft and moist this winter.

Even if its cold and chilly do not skip your daily routine of cleaning and moisturising your skin.

Use lukewarm water. Avoid using hot water on your face or while taking shower.

Cleansing:

Use a face wash or a cleanser to cleanse your face. You might have to apply it twice if you have make-up. Almond, olive oil or coconut oil are good natural options as make-up removers. But remember to wipe off the oil to avoid break-outs. Do not forget to cleanse your neck too.

Exfoliating:

Exfoliation is important too. Once a week exfoliation will give you good results. You can opt for natural, mild exfoliating packs made of:

•             coconut oil, almond oil and sugar

•             curd, rice flour or gram flour

•             honey, lemon and sugar

Be gentle while exfoliating. You do not want to bruise or hurt your skin. Exfoliate not just your face and neck, but your hands, legs and lips too.

Moisturising:

Keeping your skin hydrated is crucial for soft, supple skin. You can repeat or re-apply moisturiser whenever your skin feels dry. Use a light moisturiser if you have oily skin.

But for hands, neck, legs moisturise as often as your skin demands.

You can opt for gel-based or cream-based moisturizer depending upon your skin type. You can use baby creams too in case your skin is sensitive. Use night creams to help your skin rejuvenate overnight.

Needless to say, what you eat has a big role to play in how your skin looks or behaves.

Sipping green tea, honey-lemon water in the morning, consuming a lot of citrus fruits, leafy vegetables, almonds, walnuts, peanuts, eggs and fish will do good to your skin as well as your overall well-being.
