Papaya as a fruit and as a vegetable is commonly available in most Indian households. Its health benefits are well known. Starting from keeping your eyes healthy to giving you a healthy gut, the papaya is among the many beneficial food that is consumed across the country. Ripe papaya is often had as a fruit as part of one’s breakfast menu. Many have it as smoothie. Papaya is also used as a beauty product. It can be used by itself or mixed with other food items like cucumber, honey, banana and tomato to give you healthy, glowing skin.



Here are a few easy do it yourself (DIY) papaya face masks for all skin types to giving you glowing skin while seating in the comfort of your home. But do remember, a healthy diet, good sleep, less stress and some exercise is also important for good, healthy skin.



 



Papaya and Tomato Mask – Good for Combination Skin



1.            Mash 8-10 cubes of ripe papaya. Mix it with some tomato pulp to make a smooth paste.



2.            Apply the paste on your face and neck. Keep it on for 15 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water.



3.            Follow with aloe vera or any other light moisturiser.



 



Papaya, Banana and Cucumber Mask – Good for Oily Skin



1.            Blend ripe 1/4th papaya, 1/4th cucumber and half a banana together to form a smooth paste. You can mash it with a fork or a spoon or with your hand and mix all the 3 ingredients well.

2. Apply this on your face and neck and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.



3. Rinse with lukewarm water.



 



Papaya and Honey Mask – Good for Dry Skin



1.            Take 8-10 cubes of raw papaya and grate them.



2.            To this add 1 tsp of milk or malai and 1 tbsp of honey.



3.            Blend to form a smooth paste and apply on your face and neck



4.            Let it sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.



5.            Follow with aloe vera or a moisturiser to seal the goodness of the mask
