November 30, 2020: Pradeep Kumar, the proxy candidate of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), was in touch with Bhargav Deka for the last one year.

Kumar was arrested on Saturday from Delhi by a team of West Guwahati Police led by Supratibhlal Barua. Tracing of his mobile number based on confession of Deka led to his arrest.

Kumar is a graduate from Delhi School of Engineering and he hails from Jharkhand.

Kumar sat for Neel Nakshatra Das as a proxy in the JEE as per arrangement of Deka, whose firm Global Edulite has been accused of fixing competitive examinations.

Neel and his father Dr. Jyotirmoy Das have been arrested.
