November 6, 2023: In yet another incident, three home guards looted around 2 kgs of smuggled gold from a moving train at Kamakhya Junction Railway Station in Guwahati, Assam.

Reportedly, the home guards have been identified as Ajmal Ali, Tafiq Haque and Aaktul Ali. Three of them were on duty when they looted the gold on October 28.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) has filed suo moto against the incident. However, three of them are still on the run.

A few days ago, five GRP personnel were accused of forcibly snatching gold biscuits from passengers. Out of 5, four of them were home guards and the remaining one was a GRP constable named Maran Das. The four home guards were identified as Tabidul Haque, Bijul Ali, Tahidul Rahman and Mamtaz Ali.

Though the victim’s allegations were proven right during the Departmental Investigation, the alleged five police personnel have not been arrested yet.
