October 29, 2020: On Thursday, the All India Road Transport Workers Federation (AIRTWF) has staged a protest at Khanapara, Guwahati against the Meghalaya Govt.

The protest was instigated by the recent step taken by the Meghalaya Govt for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The protestors have alleged that the Meghalaya Govt is charging 500-3000 rupees from them for the COVID test which is harassment. Moreover, entry of Assam’s commercial vehicles has been also banned in Meghalaya.

The protestors have demanded that the Assam Govt should make free provision for the testing near the Assam-Meghalaya border and provide a solution to the issues.
