I wish to reiterate Government's commitment to go the extra mile in liberating Assam from scourge of human trafficking, drugs & cattle smuggling said CM Sarma

August 15, 2021: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma hoisted the national flag on the 75th Independence Day at Khanapara in Guwahati.

“Honoured to have hoisted the National Flag at Guwahati. My salute to the pride & glory that citizens celebrate on #IndependenceDay.  I live, breathe and cherish the ideals that shape our beautiful India. Greetings & best wishes. Jai Hind,” CM said in a tweet.

“As we celebrate #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav, I wish to reiterate Government's commitment to go the extra mile in liberating Assam from scourge of human trafficking, drugs & cattle smuggling. We shall work relentlessly to free Assam free from these social evils,” he said.

“We're grateful to Hon PM Sri @narendramodi & HM Sri @AmitShah for steering peace in the region. I appeal to ULFA's Paresh Baruah & militant groups of Assam to come to the mainstream, join our dialogue process, & contribute constructively,” he added.

“My reverence to the six @assampolice personnel who laid down their lives while protecting the inter-state boundary. While duty bound to protect our boundaries, Assam is committed to maintain friendly relations with all neighbouring states,” he added.

“For each one of us #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav will become more meaningful if we resolved to plant 75 saplings each in all the offices, schools, colleges and other premises around us. Let's nurture & do our bit to enrich Mother Nature. Jai Hind,” CM said.
