Guwahati: A woman was severely injured after being attacked by an elephant in Golaghat, Assam.



The injured woman was identified as Mainu Barua, a resident of 3 No Falangani Village in Marangi area of Golaghat. She was attacked by a roaming wild elephant outside her home.



Eyewitnesses reported that the elephant trampled Barua, leaving her with critical injuries.



Local residents rushed her to the Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital in Golaghat, where she is currently undergoing treatment.



Forest officials were injured regarding the incident just after the incident. Attempts to ensure that the elephant does not return to the human-inhabited areas.
