July 16, 2021: A 25-year-old woman identified as Rasna Padun of Sesamukh Padunchuk village of Sivasagar district has gone missing after drowning in Dihing River on Thursday evening.
As per reports, the deceased Rasna went to do some work by the river side and she slipped into the river.
Reportedly, a man standing on the other side of the river screamed after seeing Rasna fall. This alerted her family. They immediately reached the scene but by then she was already swept away by the river.
She was a mother of one child and wife of Lakhyanath Padun.
A team of SDRF and police along with the locals have launched a search operation but her body is yet to be found.
