March 18, 2020: Eighteen persons including six policemen were injured, two critically in two road mishaps across the state on Wednesday.

In Abhayapuri, North Salmara , twelve persons were injured when three auto-rickshaws were mowed down by a speeding vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was said to be in inebriated condition while in another accident six policemen were injured, two critically when their vehicle was hit by a truck in Nagaon.

The injured policemen were identified as Sanjeev Kumar Sinha, Nipu Dekaraja, Kalyan Dihingia, Rajesh Bordoloi, Prafulla Borah, Bakul Bordoloi and they were admitted to Nagaon Civil Hospital.

Sanjeev Kumar Sinha , Bhula Kakoti, the driver of the vehicle who were seriously injured, were later referred to GMCH for further treatment.

The truck that hit the police vehicle immediately fled from the scene after the accident. Police suspect the truck might be carrying illegal goods.
