September 26, 2021: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on the occasion of World Rivers Day said that the Rivers are the lifelines of a nation and plays a pivotal role in socio-economic life.



Taking to Twitter Assam CM said, “Rivers are the lifelines of a nation. Mahabahu Brahmaputra and Barak River play a pivotal role in Assam’s socio-economic life. On #WorldRiversDay, let's celebrate the contribution of rivers to our civilisational glory and partake in our duty to keep them clean.”
