May 4, 2022: President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday addressed the 61st annual conference of Bodo Sahitya Sabha at Kachubari in Tamulpur district of Assam.

While addressing the 61st annual conference, the President said that the role of Bodo Sahitya Sabha is important in spreading languages.



The President also mentioned Sitanath Brahma Chaudhary while addressing the public.



Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, and Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang have also attended the Bodo Sahitya Sabha session along with the President.

Large number of Bodo language-speaking people from Bangladesh, Nepal, Tripura, Nagaland, and West Bengal are also attending the event.



The President accompanied by his wife arrived in Guwahati on Tuesday.



The President who is on a four-day visit to the North Eastern States, will grace the valedictory function of North East Festival at Guwahati this afternoon, organized by the Ministry of DoNER as a part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'. On Thursday, he would also go to Aizawl to address the 16th Convocation of the Mizoram University.



The three-day conference of Bodo Sahitya Sabha began on Monday. The Assam government has sanctioned special casual leave to the state government employees who are participating in the conference being held at Kachubari in Tamulpur in the Bodoland Territorial Region.
