July 2, 2022: So far 7 people from Assam have died, 5 are undergoing treatment in hospitals and 13 are missing in the tragic massive landslide that had hit the Tupul railway construction camp in Noney district of Manipur on Wednesday night.



This information was shared by Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika who is currently at the landslide site in Noney.



He was asked to go to the site by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to oversee the rescue operations and also liaise with the families of the workers from Assam who were at the camp when the landslide hit.

There were a total of 81 people including 107 Territorial Army personnel, Indian Railways staff and workers at the camp when the massive landslide took place and trapped them.  So far 24 bodies have been recovered.
