September 29, 2023: Three luxury vehicles were seized from David alias Debajyoti’s residence in Jayanagar, Guwahati on Friday. The vehicles are Endeavour, Fortuner and BMW.

David is one of the masterminds of a multi-crore scam in Guwahati, Assam. However, the Crime Branch has already sent the main accused to jail.

A few days ago, Assam Police busted a multi-crore scam in Guwahati. Police raided eight different illegal call centres in Guwahati and detained over 191 persons and three masterminds.

The three masterminds who have been arrested during the raid are Debajyoti Dey (31) from Karimganj, Rajan Sidana (39) from Ludhiana and Divyam Arora (31) from Delhi. Out of 191 detained people - 144 are male and the remaining 47 are female. Several desktops, laptops and mobile phones were also seized during these raids.

As per reports, many young boys and girls from across the country were employed as technical support employees with a basic salary of Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 per month in the centres.
