December 9, 2020: Ahead of the second phase of the BTC elections, Police had detained Lok Sabha MP and chief of Gana Suraksha Party (GSP), Naba Kumar Sarania for distributing cash in the Salakati area of Kokrajhar district on Tuesday night.

Reportedly, 10 accomplices of the MP were also detained and were brought to Kokrajhar Police Station. They were under detention overnight.

According to police sources, Sarania was distributing cash to the voters in a village in the Salakati area.

Later on Wednesday morning, Sarania and his accomplices were released.

Meanwhile, MP Naba Kumar Sarania denied allegation labelled against him.
