June 16, 2022: In a tragic incident, two children died in a landslide due to heavy rainfall in Goalpara on Wednesday night. Both the deceased were identified as Hussain Sikdar (10) and Asma Begum (8).

Later, an SDRF team recovered the bodies of the children.

Goalpara and other parts of Assam have been experiencing incessant rains for the past several days.

Reports of landslides, water logging and floods have been coming in from across the rain-hit state.
