Assam’s COVID-19 caseload mounted to 5,54,221 on Thursday day as 1796 more people tested positive for the infection

July 22, 2021: Assam’s COVID-19 caseload mounted to 5,54,221 on Thursday day as 1796 more people tested positive for the infection while 22 fresh fatalities pushed the death toll to 5076, the National Health Mission bulletin said.



Kamrup (M), district reported the highest number of new cases at 226, followed by 177 in Golaghat, 108 in Jorhat and 99 in Lakhimpur.



The number of active cases in the state is 14,858.



Of the 22 fatalities, 4 deaths reported each from Golaghat and Jorhat followed by 2 each from Bongaigaon, Darrang, Dibrugarh and Kamrup (M).



Total 5,32,940 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the infection so far.



The current death rate is 0.92 per cent and the number of COVID-19 positive patients dying due to other causes is 1,347.
