January 20, 2023: Tension erupted between people of Bihpuria in Lakhimpur district in Assam on Friday over recovery of a human skull.

Reportedly, a human skull was recovered from a pond of one man named Pradip Suri in Bihpuria on Thursday evening. Pradip Suri has noticed the skull when he went down for fishing.

However, a family from Chaudhpunia suspecting that the skull is of Chittaranjan Dutta who went missing on July 8, 2022 after attending a wedding ceremony. The victim Chittaranjan Dutta was the second son of Prafulla Dutta and Mousumi Hazarika Dutta of Chaudhpunia in Bihpuria.

Police have also recovered some bones and a pair of shoe from the pond.

The recovered bones and skull have been sent to forensic for the test.
