June 6, 2022: A bench of the Gauhati High Court on Monday said that second wife will not get the benefits of her husband’s government pension.
The Court said that under the Hindu Marriage Act a man cannot have two wives therefore the ruling.
The ruling came in response to a petition filed by a lady named Pratima Deka. She had filed the petition in 2019.
