October 7, 2021: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is on a daylong visit to Assam today, October 7. The Finance Minister took part in the Bhumi pujan of 120 MW Lower Kopili Hydro Electric Power project in Longku, Dima Hasao.
The FM also laid the foundation stone of a 2-lane highway funded by Asian Development Bank. The upgradation of the 2-lane, 90 km highway is estimated to cost Rs 250 crore.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was present at the event.
FM Sitharaman would inspect the North Guwahati Bridge project in the afternoon and take part in the EAP exhibition and launch of the Right to Public Service (RTPS) portal in Guwahati before leaving for New Delhi later in the evening today.
