September 2, 2023: Five police personnel were arrested by the CID on charges of demanding money in Assam on Saturday.

The arrested police have been identified as Bhawanipur Police Outpost SP Debajit Giri, Patacharkuchi ASI Sasanka Das, PSO ABC Injamamul Hassan, Bajali SP’s driver Dibjoy Roy and Nabir Ahmed.

Earlier day, a total of seven Assam Police personnel identified as APS officer Pushkal Gogoi, Patacharkuchi OC Anupjyoti Patir along with the above-mentioned arrested persons were detained on the case.

All of them were brought to Guwahati for questioning at the CID office.
