May 6, 2020: In an operation carried out by Sivasagar police amid lockdown, five gamblers were arrested on Wednesday.

The gamblers were identified as Manasjyoti Das from Dhuliapara's Jonaki Nagar, Abdul Qatar from Rupkonwar Balighat, Kaku Barua from Thanamukh, Papu Gupta and Hopun Bhuyan from Babu Patty.

Police recovered cash and gambling equipments from them.

It may be noted that gambling was taking place near Sivasagar police station which has created tension in the region.
