First Phase of Gunotsov Begins From Today in Assam

Under the initiative of State Department of Education and Axom Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission, this year Gunotsav will be held in three phases.

May 11, 2022: The annual program of Gunotsov has begun in Assam from today after a gap of two years.



Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will inaugurate the first phase of Gunotsov from Sipajhar’s Ghorabandha Nimnya Buniadi Vidyalaya.



Gunotsav aims at identifying learning gaps of each and every child and ensure quality education with grade specific learning outcomes. The performance of schools in areas like scholastic, co-scholastic, availability and utilisation of infrastructure and community participation will be assessed.

All government, provincialised, tea garden management schools of elementary and secondary levels will be covered during Gunotsav 2022, to be celebrated across 33 districts of the state.



The first phase will be held in 10 districts of the state – Darang, Bishwanath, Bongaigaon, Charaideo, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Karimganj, Karbi Anglong and Nagaon



In the second phase, Gunotsov will be held in 12 districts -Golaghat, Hailakandi, Hojai, Kamrup, Kokrajhar, Majuli, Morigaon, Sivasagar, South Salmara-Mankachar, Tinsukia, Barpeta and Udalguri.



Whereas in the third phase Gunotsav will be held in 11 districts Baksa, Cachar, Chirang, Dhubri, Dima Hasao, Jorhat, Kamrup (M), Lakhimpur, Nalbari, Sonitpur and West Karbi Anglong.
