March 15, 2023: The outbreak of H3N2 influenza cases continue to rise in India from few days.

According to a notice released by Health Department, a case of the H3N2 virus has been reported in Assam on Wednesday.

H3N2 is a subtype of the viral genus Influenzavirus A, which is one of the important causes of human influenza. This virus can infect birds and mammals also.

As per reports, at least three death cases related to H3N2 virus have been registered in India so far.
