In Dibrugarh, fire took place in Coal Road due to fire crackers. Despite a ban on sale and use of fire crackers in the region by the administration the same was being carried out. The fire was later douched by the fire brigade which led to only minimum damage.



Similarly, in Silapathar the house of one named Sarkhar Hemanta Pegu was charred to ashes after it presumably caught fire by firecrackers.

On the other hand in Diphu, the house of one namely Thomas Lakra caught fire from an earthen lamp. The family was not at home when the fire took place. Property worth nearly 5 lakh rupees got burnt in the fire.



Whereas in Sivasagar, a massive fire took place at a fair price shop leading to the death of two. The shop caught fire from an earthen lamp but the fire got massive as there was huge amount petrol and diesel stored in the shop. The deceased have been identified as Pranjit Gogoi who died in the fire and Dhruba Gogoi who later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
