July 2, 2022: One poacher was killed and process is on to nab the remaining 3-4 poachers in the Orang National Park, DFO Prodipto Barua said.



The poachers fired at least three rounds and the forest guards fired at least 5 rounds, the DFO informed.

The dead poacher has been identified as Sabad Ali, 35, of Dalgaon, Assam.



Orang National Park falls in the Darrang and Sonitpur districts of Assam and is famous for the one-horned rhino, elephants and the Royal Bengal tiger.
