July 1, 2022: One ULFA (I) militant was killed in an encounter that took place between the Indian Army personnel and ULFA (I) militants on Friday morning in Kakopathar under Tinsukia district, Assam.

Four militants – Rupam Asom, Uday Asom, Mriganka Asom and Rinku Asom are suspected to have sustained injuries in the exchange of fire.

Sources said that the group of 6 ULFA-I militants were hiding at a house of one Baba Changmai in the village.
