November 4, 2020: Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal on Tuesday visited the residence of Late Constable of Assam Police Roben Das who lost his life during an operation against cattle smugglers at Indo-Bangla Border in South Salmara District recently.
CM Sonowal while visiting the late constable’s residence at Hathinapur in Barpeta District, offered floral tributes at the latter’s portrait and interacted with the family members and conveyed his deep sympathy. He also handed over a cheque of Rs. 10 Lakh to the mother of Late Constable Roben Das as financial assistance from the State Government.
Later, talking to media persons, Chief Minister Sonowal said that the valour and sacrifice of Late Roben Das would continue to inspire the people of the state. He also said that the State Government would take steps to provide employment to one of the family members of the late constable.
Industry & Commerce minister Chandra Mohan Patowary was also present during the visit of the Chief Minister.
