June 23, 2021: Assam recorded 2,728 number of Covid positive cases today, down from the 2,805 number of cases reported on Tuesday.

The positivity rate has remained the same at 1.64 per cent. There were more good news as the number of deaths too dipped to 30 on Wednesday from 35 a day prior.

Among the districts, Golaghat reported the maximum number of cases at 212, followed by Kamrup (Metro) with 187 cases, Sonitpur recorded 177 cases as per data shared by the National Health Mission, Assam on Wednesday.

Sonitpur recorded the highest number of deaths at 6, followed by 5 deaths in Nagaon and 3 each in Cachar and Kamrup (M) districts.

The state government would be announcing a new set of SOP today. The announcement is likely to be made post the state Cabinet meeting scheduled to be held at 3 PM today.

Different parts of the state is already under curfew with few hours of relaxation. The curfew timings for Guwahati city has been from 2 PM to 5 AM.

This is expected to be relaxed and the new timings is expected to be from 6 PM to 5 AM.
