May 20, 2020: The numbers of COVID-19 cases in Assam have risen to 157 as more three persons tested positive on Tuesday.

State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "Three new #COVID cases detected from Sarusajai Quarantine Centre. Now the total patient count goes to 157.

I request all to maintain #SocialDistanacing, must wear masks, and wash your hands frequently."

Till now positive cases for COVID-19 have been reported so far from Golaghat, Nalbari, Morigaon, Goalpara, Dhubri, South Salmara, Kamrup (Metro), Kamrup, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Cachar, Hailakandi, Bongaigaon, Jorhat districts.

Meanwhile, four persons have lost their life due to COVID-19.
