July 3, 2021: Assam’s COVID-19 tally rose to 5, 15,981 on Thursday as 2,375 people tested positive for the infection while 28 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,632, the National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin said.

Assam currently has 23,737 active COVID-19 cases.

As many as 2,524 COVID-19 patients recovered from the infection during the day and a total of 4,86,265 people have recovered from the disease so far.

Among the districts, Golaghat reported the maximum number of cases at 316, followed by Jorhat with 231 cases, Kamrup (Metro) with 168 cases; Lakhimpur recorded 166 cases as per data shared by the National Health Mission, Assam on Saturday.

The positivity rate for the day was 1.77 per cent and the current death rate is 0.90 per cent.
