July 7, 2021: Assam’s COVID-19 tally rose to 5, 22,262 on Tuesday as 2433 people tested positive for the infection while 34 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,717, the National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin said.



Assam currently has 22,897 active COVID-19 cases.



As many as 1,745 COVID-19 patients recovered from the infection during the day and a total of 4,93,306 people have recovered from the disease so far.

Among the districts, Golaghat reported the maximum number of cases at 270, followed by Sonitpur with 229 cases, Kamrup (M) with 203 cases; Jorhat recorded 246 cases as per data shared by the National Health Mission, Assam.



Golaghat, Kamrup (R) and Tinsukia districts have recorded the highest number of deaths at 4 each, followed by 3 deaths in Dibrugarh and Sivasagar, 2 each from Jorhat, Kamrup (M), Lakhimpur and Karimganj, 1 each from Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Dima Hasao, Hojai, Kokrajhar, Morigaon, Nalbari and Sonitpur.



The positivity rate for the day was 2.43 per cent and the current death rate is 0.90 per cent.
