July 5, 2021: Assam’s COVID-19 tally rose to 5, 19,834 on Monday as 2640 people tested positive for the infection while 31 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,683, the National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin said.



Assam currently has 22,243 active COVID-19 cases.



As many as 2,521 COVID-19 patients recovered from the infection during the day and a total of 4,91,561 people have recovered from the disease so far.

Among the districts, Golaghat reported the maximum number of cases at 333, followed by Sonitpur with 233 cases, Kamrup (M) with 197 cases; Jorhat recorded 151 cases as per data shared by the National Health Mission, Assam.



Dibrugarh district recorded the highest number of deaths at 5, followed by 4 deaths in Golaghat, 3 in Jorhat, 2 deaths each from Cachar, Dhubri, Hailakandi and Hojai districts.



The positivity rate for the day was 2.25 per cent and the current death rate is 2.27 per cent.
