Assam on Monday reported 2575 new COVID-19 cases with Golaghat district reporting the highest cases

July 12, 2021: Assam’s COVID-19 caseload mounted to 5,36,238 on Monday as 2575 more people tested positive for the infection while 37 fresh fatalities pushed the death toll to 4865, the National Health Mission bulletin said.



Golaghat district reported the highest number of new cases at 268, followed by 217 in Kamrup (M), 196 in (Jorhat), and 172 in Lakhimpur.



The number of active cases in the state is 19,594.



Of the 37 fatalities, 5 deaths were reported each from Baksa and Sonitpur and 4 each from Karbi Anglong and Lakhimpur.

Total 5,10,432 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the infection so far.



The current death rate is 0.91 per cent and the number of COVID-19 positive patients dying due to other causes is 1,347.



Meanwhile, 2,916 coronavirus patients were discharged during the day and the current recovery rate is 95.19 per cent. The new cases were detected out of 1,68,361 tests conducted on Monday. So far, 1,62,69,676 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in Assam.
