Assam has reported 1276 new COVID-19 cases and 21 deaths cases on Wednesday

July 28, 2021: Assam’s COVID-19 tally rose to 5,62,731 on Wednesday  as 1276 people tested positive for the infection, while 21 fresh fatalities pushed the state’s coronavirus death toll to 5,201, a bulletin issued by the National Health Mission said.



Kamrup (M) district reported the highest number of new cases at 161, followed by Golaghat (98), Lakhimpur (95) and Nagaon (66).





Four COVID-19 fatalities were reported from Jorhat, three from Golaghat, two each from Kamrup (R) and Karbi Anglong , and one each from Bongaigaon, Cachar, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Hojai, Kamrup (M), Lakhimpur, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, and Tinsukia.

The current death rate is 0.92 per cent and the number of COVID-19 positive patients dying due to other causes is 1,347.



The number of active COVID-19 positive cases in the state is 13,152.
