July 4, 2021: Assam’s COVID-19 tally rose to 5, 17,194 on Sunday as 1213 people tested positive for the infection while 20 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,652, the National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin said.
Assam currently has 22,155 active COVID-19 cases.
As many as 2,775 COVID-19 patients recovered from the infection during the day and a total of 4,89,040 people have recovered from the disease so far.
Among the districts, Kamrup(M) reported the maximum number of cases at 140, followed by Golaghat with 114 cases, Sonitpur with 96 cases; Dibrugarh recorded 83 cases as per data shared by the National Health Mission, Assam.
Morigaon and Nagaon districts recorded the highest number of deaths at 3, followed by 2 deaths in Dibrugarh, 1 deaths each from Baksa, Barpeta, Biswanath, Cachar, Darrang, Golaghat, Hojai, Jorhat, Kamrup (M), Kamrup (R), Karbi Anglong and Tinsukia districts.
The positivity rate for the day was 2.25 per cent and the current death rate is 0.90 per cent.
