Kamrup (M) district reported the highest number of new cases at 202

August 5, 2021: Assam’s COVID-19 tally rose to 5,71,571 on Wednesday as 1067 people tested positive for the infection, while 17 fresh fatalities pushed the state’s coronavirus death toll to 5,343, a bulletin issued by the National Health Mission said.



Kamrup (M) district reported the highest number of new cases at 202, followed by Golaghat (76), Lakhimpur (72) and Sivasagar (70).



3 COVID-19 fatalities were reported from Kamrup (M) and 2 each from Biswanath, Nalbaria and Tinsukia.



The current death rate is 0.93 per cent and the number of COVID-19 positive patients dying due to other causes is 1,347.



The number of active COVID-19 positive cases in the state is 10,677.
