August 4, 2021: Assam’s COVID-19 tally rose to 5,70,504 on Wednesday as 1065 people tested positive for the infection, while 19 fresh fatalities pushed the state’s coronavirus death toll to 5,326, a bulletin issued by the National Health Mission said.



Kamrup (M) district reported the highest number of new cases at 181, followed by Lakhimpur (71), Barpeta (63) and Kamrup Rural (56).





4 COVID-19 fatalities were reported from Jorhat, 3 from Karbi Anglong and 2 each from Baksa, DIbrugarh, Tinsukia, and 1 each for Cachar, Golaghat, Kamrup (M), Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur and Morigaon.

The current death rate is 0.93 per cent and the number of COVID-19 positive patients dying due to other causes is 1,347.



The number of active COVID-19 positive cases in the state is 10,876.
