July 28, 2021: Amid the ongoing Assam-Mizoram Border Dispute, a new Superintendent of Police has been posted in Cachar.

In the latest development, Smti Ramandeep Kaur, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Hailakandi has been transferred and posted as the Superintendent of Police, Cachar.

On the other hand, Shri Gauarav Upadhyay, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Chirang has been transferred and posted as the Superintendent of Police, Hailakandi.

Whereas, Shri Pranjit  Bprah, APS, DCP traffic has been transferred and posted as the Superintendent of Police, Chirnag.

The reshuffle came following last Monday’s violent clash at Lailapaur along Assam-Mizoram Border in which the previous SP Vaibhav Nimbalkar sustained major bullet injuries. Due to his critical condition he was air-Lifted to Maharashtra for better treatment on Tuesday.
