May 25, 2022: Assam police on Wednesday arrested three accused for gang raping a 16-year-old girl in Assam’s Kokrajhar. The girl was gang raped on Tuesday by three men at Kokrajhar’s Salakati. Police have arrested two accused Afruddin Islam, SamejUddin on Tuesday and one more accused today.

 “Reference rape of a 16 year old girl at Salakati, Kokrajhar yesterday - All three accused persons have been apprehended last evening and @KokrajharP would ensure a timely submission of a strong charge sheet followed by expeditious trial.  @CMOfficeAssam @assampolice,” tweeted Special DGP of Assam Police GP Singh.
