November 15, 2021: The mortal remains of Suman Swargiary, a soldier of Assam Rifles arrived in Guwahati today, November 15. Swargiary was killed along with seven others, in Churachandpur district of Manipur on Saturday, November 13 in an ambush.



Swargiary, a resident of Thekerakuchi, under Barama police station of Baksa district of lower Assam, was supposed to return to his house in December, for his son’s third birthday.



The State govt has announced ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh to the kin of Swargiary.



Swargiary was killed along with the Commanding Officer, his wife and 6 years old son and 3 others.
