September 4, 2020: Assam government on Friday announced three schemes for entrepreneurs, students and tea workers. Finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma announcing the schemes said that due to Covid-19, the development activities have been delayed in the state.
The first scheme announced is 'Nabakalpita Swayam' under which entrepreneurs to be provided with Rs 50,000 each to 2 lakh youths for which Rs. 1,000 crore has been earmarked.

The second scheme is 'Abhinandan' scheme which will provide educational loan of Rs. 50,000 for higher studies and Rs. 75,000 have been kept for this.
The last scheme is 'Assam Chah Bagicha Dhan Puraskar Scheme' to provide Rs. 3000 to tea workers.

Dr. Sharma also informed that most of the austerity measures in government departments are likely to be lifted very soon.
