June 2, 2022: Assam Government on Thursday (June 2) said that it has placed Barbie Hazarika, ACS, Asstt Commissioner, Kamrup Metro and OSD, Secondary Education Department under suspension following complaints received from the Act East Policy Affairs Department and the ASEAN and Singapore delegations regarding her “rude and inappropriate behaviour.

“…report has been received from the Act East Policy Affairs Department that the Singapore delegation has raised serious complaint regarding her rude and inappropriate behaviour and the ASEAN delegation has also expressed their displeasure over her behaviour which has brought bad name to the state and the country as well…”, a state government statement said.

The statement further said that pending drawal of Department Proceeding, Barbie Hazarika has been placed under suspension with immediate effect.
