September 11, 2023: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday unveiled the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the new building premises of the legislative assembly in Guwahati.

The five-day autumn session of the Assam Legislative Assembly began today. This is the first session held at the newly constructed building.

Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla inaugurated the new building of the Assam Legislative Assembly in Guwahati on July 30.
