May 18, 2022: Assam Cabinet holds emergency meeting and key decisions have been taken to ensure non-stop rescue and relief operations amid devastating floods.



Indian Air Force choppers would drop another 12 metro tonne of food grains in Dima Hasao, one of the worst flood affected districts of Assam.



Flybig airlines will operate flights at Rs 3000 per ticket to evacuate stranded people in Batak Valley, the Assam Cabinet decided today at its emergency meeting convened by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma as the state battles one of the worst floods in recent times.

Airtel services have begun in Dima Hasao.



Ministers Jugen Mohan and Bimal Bora to visit Dima Hasao. They will travel on bikes from Jatinga to Haflong as the road and rail connectivity continues to remain suspended as several parts of Dima Hasao continue to remain under water and cut off from the rest of the state.



Dima Hasao, Cachar, Hojai are among the worst flood affected places of Assam.
